It might not be the most romantic thing ever, but Chris Brown took his on-again off-again girlfriend Rihanna on a court date Wednesday.

Ironically, the R&B singer’s court appearance was to see if he broke his probation for beating Rihanna in 2009.

The couple spent several hours at a recording studio Tuesday night and were photographed leaving together. Rihanna apparently spent the night at Chris’ home and they both left for court together Wednesday afternoon.

Our RumorFix reporter on the scene tells us Rihanna, wearing black tights and a floral shirt as she sat in the courtroom.

She looked calm and confident and didn’t show any emotion.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has done an investigation and they believe that Chris should not get credit for any of the 180 days of community service that Virginia probation officials says he completed. Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos told the judge, “I am disturbed how the DA handles thinks.”

The DA’s 0ffice said there were “significant discrepancies indicating at best sloppy documentation and at worst fraudulent reporting.”

Judge James Brandlin decided not to revoke Chris’ probation, but ordered him to report to the probation department within 48 hours. The judge also  told both sides to do more research and return for another hearing on April 5.
