For a politician, even one in Los Angeles, being aligned with troubled actor Charlie Sheen isn’t necessarily a good look. That’s why LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is looking to add some separation from himself and Sheen after the comedian tweeted out a picture of them together at the opening of the actor’s hotel bar, Hotel El Ganzo, in Cabo, Mexico.
“From Boyle Heights 2 Mayor of LA! @hotelelganzo 2 party w/SHEEN at SheenZ! Antonio Villaraigosa knows how to party!” Sheen’s tweet read.
Villaraigosa quickly looked to quiet rumors he was party buddies with the actor, telling NBC, “I had a three minute conversation with him, I took a picture … I take a picture every single day, 50 times, and I took a picture with him. I have never said no to anyone who wanted to take a picture.”
Sheen also reportedly made homophobic slurs at the hotel on the same trip, so Mayor Villaraigosa may want to double think his next photo op.
