Oxygen is getting a lot of pressure to cancel a reality show starring rapper Shawty Lo.

The Parents Television Council and change.org says the show about Shawty’s 10 baby mamas and 11 children “demeans blacks.”

More than 36,000 people have signed an online petition so far. And, some hip hop blogs are reporting that the pressure is too much so Oxygen is caving in.

“That rumor is simply untrue. The project remains in early development,” an Oxygen rep tells RumorFix.

They add the show “is not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society.”

Shawty’s rep goes even further saying, “Shawty Lo is a father figure who most young black men today should mimic.”
