Oh boy! We just saw the promo for All My Babies’ Mamas and it is what the kids call “cray cray.”
The special, which is scheduled to air on Oxygen in the Spring, documents the world of 36-year-old rapper Shawty Lo, who became a first-time father at the age of 15.
Now, he’s got 11 children (nine daughters and two sons — he has a hard time remembering them all) and 10 baby mamas and a girlfriend who’s the same age as his oldest kids.
The Parents Television Council, which says they represent 1.3 million member including producers, directors and sponsors is condemning the program.
“Every time we think that the television industry couldn’t stoop any lower, sadly one of the networks steps forward to prove us wrong,” PTC President Tim Winter said in a statement “This new project in development at Oxygen is grotesquely irresponsible and exploitive, and we urge the network to cease any further work on it immediately”
Change.org has a petition to cancel the show that has more than 34,000 signatures. Oxygen released this statement to RumorFix:
“Oxygen’s one-hour special in development is not meant to be a stereotypical representation of everyday life for any one demographic or cross section of society. It is a look at one unique family and their complicated, intertwined life. Oxygen Media’s diverse team of creative executives will continue developing the show with this point of view.”
