If the applause is any indication, maybe Beyonce or Jay-Z should run for public office.
RumorFix had a reporter at the inauguration in Washington, DC on Monday — so we could say we had our own human applause meter.
The national mall reached capacity with 800,000 people there to see President Barack Obama sworn into office. And, we can honestly say the president got the most applause — and he should after all it’s his day.

But we were surprised to find out that Jay-Z and Beyonce were tied for second with former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The couples got rousing applause simply when their images appeared on the huge Jumbotrons.
Later, Beyonce stole the show when she sang a beautiful rendition of “The Star Spangled Banner.”
When Kelly Clarkson appeared to sing “My Country ‘Tis of Thee,” the crowd was stunned to see her, so there was just a smattering of applause, but after she performed, the crowd went wild.
Eva Longoria was also at Monday morning’s festivities, but our applause meter barely recorded anything for her.

But Eva not to worry — you got a lot of applause in our RumorFix offices.
