Matthew McConaughey plays Ron Woodroof, a straight drug addict who is homophobic and gets AIDS and is given 30 days to live. He and fellow patient, Rayon, played by Jared Leto, unintentionally create the Dallas Buyers Club, which smuggled anti-viral drugs from all over the world.

Matthew and Jared have been consumed by their roles — both of them appear frightening thin — just like someone who had AIDS in the 80s.
