Gabby Douglas has traded in her trademark hairstyle for a more, well, groomed version.

The Olympic gold medalist and American sweetheart was photographed in New York City on Monday looking more like a beauty queen than a tomboy.

During the Olympics, Gabby received harsh criticism from bloggers and spectators over her hairstyle which featured her locks up in a ponytail.

At the time, the teenager fired back at her haters, telling the Associated Press, “What’s wrong with my hair? I’m like, ‘I just made history and people are focused on my hair? It can be bald or short, it doesn’t matter about (my) hair.” She continues: “Nothing is going to change. I’m going to wear my hair like this during beam and bar finals. You might as well stop talking about it.”

Ponytail or not, we think this kid’s amazing.

She represented a race that has endured a history of criticism and I’m sure these critical sentiments are coming from OUR own race. Think on this, this young woman had considered giving up her quest for her own personal reasons and YOU of a race of negroid persuasion SCEAMED in elation on the band wagon on her SUCCESS. Either you do or you don’t, either like or dislike, either you are prideful of her accomplishments or your not. LEAVE HER ALONE!!! She made an accomplishment that, more than likely your children will not ever even consider trying. LEAVE HER ALONE or SUPPORT HER!!! She has medals that you wil never hold in thought, dream or physical touch. Hey Gabby if you use them as a decorative ornament for your hair you will still be criticized. DO YOU!!! BE YOU!!!
