It’s the most wonderful time of year!
No we’re not talking about Christmas — the new Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has finally been released. The gamer geeks in our RumorFix offices are thrilled.
The day when video games were just for nerds hanging out in their parents’ basement is over, kind of. Call of Duty is one of the most popular video games out today.
The first-person shooter game, developed by Treyarch and published by Activision, can be played on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. Even celebrities look forward to the game, and they’re taking to Twitter to share their excitement.
Kurt Sutter, creator of Sons of Anarchy, tweeted: “yes, it’s #SOA day, but more importantly it’s f***ing BLACK OPS II day. diving into the PC. see ya later.”
Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson got an early start on the fun and posted his plans, “I’m off twitter for tonight… let me see what Black Ops 2 is about… goodnight and I love you…”.
Comedians Stephen Colbert and Dane Cook also gave their take on the game. Colbert tweeted, “Why waste money on Black Ops 2 when you can buy a DVD of me in Stephen Sondheim’s COMPANY? Your frat will thank you! Available 11/13!” While Dane had nothing but praise saying, “My Black Ops 2 one word review: Meritorious”.
Ice-T, who voiced a character in Gears of War 3, a game made exclusively made for Xbox 360, was a little too eager in his purchase. He told fans, “After I went out and bought 2 copies of BLACK OPS 2.. I get home and Activision had sent me 1in the mail.”
It’s really no surprise that so many celebrities have shown their love for this game. After all, the live action trailer for Black Ops 2 was shot by tough guy director, Guy Ritchie who called on friend and collaborator, Robert Downey, Jr., to makes a cameo appearance. Game on!
