The timing of story may not be the best for Lindsay Lohan.

But at the time that Lindsay is accused of lying to police, her mom, Dina Lohan, says the Liz & Dick star confessed to another lie.

Dina tells Entertainment Tonight that Lindsay admitted lying about her mom using cocaine during a recent argument that was recorded by Lindsay’s dad, Michael Lohan.

Dina says Lindsay “Absolutely lied. We were having an argument, it escalated, and she, in her weakest moment called someone.  She called [her father] and he recorded the conversation.  She just wanted to hurt me at that moment.”  She goes on to say, “I hate cocaine.  I don’t do cocaine.  I’m so proud of her for telling the truth, because it destroyed me.  I cried for weeks.  It just hurt me so bad and she knew how horrible that was and she came clean and told the truth that she lied.  I’m very proud of her for that.”

UPDATE: Michael Lohan tells RumorFix, “How could any decent mother say that she is ‘proud’ of her child — just to cover her own butt! Especially when that very night, after the interview was shot, she went out to the Gansevoort Hotel and got wasted in PUBLIC again! Just like Dina did on her birthday, in public. Does Dina actually believe her own lies and justify them? And we wonder why Lindsay lost control when Dina took over AFTER the divorce.”
