It's not every day that you hear some good news about the Church of Scientology -- but today you will.

Kirstie Alley, who is a devout follower of Tom Cruise's church, credits it for saving her from her past cocaine addiction.

While promoting her new book, The Art Of Men, the Dancing with the Stars contestant revealed secrets about her drug past to Entertainment Tonight.

"I thought I was going to overdose almost every time … I would snort the coke, then I would sit there, I'd take my pulse [thinking] 'I'm dying, I'm dying, I'm dying.'  Who would keep doing it?" she said.

Kirstie, who admits snorting cocaine while reading Dianetics, says, "Somehow I got through [the book] and I thought 'Either [Scientology] is the world's biggest scam' or I thought 'This is how I am going to get rid of this hideous compulsion.'"

The book is on sale now.

Now that Narconon, the Scientology front-group that masquerades as a drug-rehab, has experienced three deaths at one of it’s facilities in the past year and is under scrutiny, Kirstie Alley, it’s chief spokescreature, has to come out publicly and say how great it is. This is intentionally done by Scientology to bury the negative news about the recent deaths.

Kirstie got Kirstie off drugs. Nobody can do it unless you want to do it.
