When The Bachelor couple Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson announced their split last Friday, absolutely no one was surprised.

Sadly enough, not one set of winners on The Bachelor have ever actually fulfilled the show’s purpose making it to the altar. On the other hand, the series’ spin-off, The Bachelorette, has generated only one successful marriage—Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter. So RumorFix thought: “Who better to get reaction about Ben and Court than The Bachelorette Season 1 winner herself”
In an exclusive interview, Trista Sutter tells RumorFix that she wasn’t a fan of Courtney from the get go, “I understand how she said ‘There are other parts to me that weren’t shown on the show.’ But I don’t care even if you haven’t been on reality TV — because the show has been around for 10 years now — so you should know when you sign up that anything you say can be used against you, it’s just very simple to me.”
But fighting words aside, the 39-year-old confirms that she would never wish that Ben and Courtney’s relationship wouldn’t work, telling us, “I think it’s too bad that they broke up. I’m a huge fan of love and love stories and I’m always rooting for love, so it makes me sad they called it quits.”
The mom-of-one reveals that she doesn’t necessarily think it was the best choice for Ben and Courtney to take their relationship “slow.” She says, “I don’t actually think that’s the correct message. If you get engaged then you should know you want to marry that person, and when you know, why wait? Why did they go slowly if they knew they were in love? A big reason Ryan and I worked out is because we didn’t take it slowly, we jumped right into starting our future together.”
As for Trista’s advice for the newly split couple, “Don’t give up hope that you’ll find the person that your meant to be with. Also, all relationships can be learning lessons.”
