After the first part of the Real Housewives of New York City reunion aired last week, RumorFix correspondent Real Mr. Housewife got the chance to chat with housewife Aviva Drescher, who reveals she feels betrayed by RHONY veteran Ramona Singer.
“As you know, some people bring out the best in us and some bring out the worst in us. Ramona has a way with people, and I wonder if she influenced me on either side of the spectrum,” Aviva tells us exclusively. “It was a buildup of sorts. I tend to be very trusting and let people into my life easily.”

But Aviva tells us that things started to change when they went shoe shopping and Ramona found out for the first time that Aviva has a prosthetic leg. Ramona kept discussing it in an awkward conversation. “Her Miami antics, and the shoe shopping escapade were eye-opening but because I liked certain aspects about Ramona, I completely overlooked those situations,” she says.
Aviva says she is “disturbed” by how Ramona treats people on and off camera. “This was most disturbing and I excused her and figured she was stressed,” she tells RumorFix. “The straw that broke the camel’s back was when I basically asked her permission, off camera, to have Reid [Drescher] on the St Barths trip. I was very specific about the fact that he would never be around or even seen. She gave me her full blessing. Had she not, I would have stayed back in NYC and never gone to St Barths. Reid and I are certainly not the type to impose. When I arrived and heard how upset she was about the ‘dynamic’ changing and her thoughts/plans to ask Reid to leave I felt totally bamboozled and betrayed. It was at that moment that I became unhinged and over-reacted.”

Regardless of the way Ramona acted, it should be noted that Aviva does not feel that she was bullied by Ramona. Aviva says, “Bullying is a very serious issue and should not be belittled by reality television. Bullying is unacceptable and I will do anything that I can through the platform of television to help it stop. The definition of a ‘bully’ is ‘a person who uses strength or power to harm or intimidate those who are weaker.’ Neither Ramona nor I bullied anyone because neither one of us is weaker than the other. I do not like it at all when the term ‘bully’ is thrown around as it diminishes people who are truly hurt by bullying. We are on a silly reality show where the name of the game is drama. No one is bullying anyone on our show.”
When asked what her relationship is like now with the women, Aviva tells, “I get along with everyone at this point except Ramona. I was out last week with Sonja [Morgan]at a fabulous gay bar called the Townhouse. We had fun. As always I have always gotten along with Heather [Thomson], Carole [Radzwill], and LuAnn de Lesseps.”

Drescher also gave us some insight into what we can expect Monday on part 2 of the reunion. “I explain why I was particularly sensitive to Ramona and Sonja’s hard partying. I don’t feel that I should have commented on it at all… I am the last person who should be speaking about the subject of alcoholism because it hits a nerve.”
The second part of the Real Housewives of New York reunion airs Monday at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
