Nicki Minaj Don’t Buy That New Car … Just Yet

If you believe the rumors, the American Idol judges panel has more judges than actual chairs. Since Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez announced their departures from the show, Kanye West, Keith Urban, Nicki Minaj and several other celebrities have been rumored as replacements.

Just this week, MediaTakeOut reported that Nicki Minaj had purchased a brand new car with the $15 million deal she got with Fox to join the singing competition. There’s just one little problem with that story, and all the others: no one has signed on the dotted line.

In fact, network reps tell RumorFix, “The only announcement thus far on IDOL has been Mariah Carey.”

That might mean Randy Jackson will be sticking around, despite recent speculation that he would be swapping a judge’s chair for a less prominent mentoring role. We guess we will have to just wait and see what happens, but one thing is for sure: Idol will be don’t miss TV this season.

I don’t understand why they don’t get judges who are more established as artists. Wouldn’t it be more beneficial for the up and coming singers to have help from someone who has had more experience in the industry? Not saying that Nicki Minaj isn’t experience or talented but I feel like there could be a ton more other “legendary” artists who could be more helpful!

Unfortunately music these days is about popping up over night… dropping a few singles and riding publicity waves.Nicki knows A LOT about that. Not to mention this show has “judges” not “mentors” like the voice or X-factor… meaning that producers on American Idol (or any show for that matter) are really just looking for judges who will draw in viewers and act crazy. They could care less about how the contestants do after it’s over… they just want ratings.
