Just hours winning his Monday Night Football game against the Denver Broncos, Atlanta Falcons running back Michael Turner was arrested. The NFL star was popped on suspicion of DUI after rushing for 42 yards and a touchdown earlier in the night.
Local police tell RumorFix that Turner was pulled over in his black Audi R8 around 4:00 a.m. for driving 97 mph in a 65 mph zone. The arresting officer discovered alcohol during the stop, and took Turner into custody after he refused to a breathalyzer test.
The star’s team released this statement regarding the arrest:
“We are aware of the situation involving Michael and are in the process of gathering more information. Because this is now a legal matter, the club will have no further comment at this time.”
Turner has since been released on a $2179 bond.
