Disgraced football star Chad Johnson has reached a plea agreement to resolve his misdemeanor domestic violence charge, RumorFix has confirmed. Johnson pled no contest to the charge under the agreement reached earlier this week.
On Friday morning, Florida judge Ian Richards approved the deal which will have Johnson serve one year probation, complete batterers’ intervention counseling, and pay restitution for medical costs. Johnson will also not be allowed to have contact with his ex-wife, Evelyn Lozada.
Johnson head-butted Lozada during a domestic dispute back in August, just weeks after the two exchanged vows. Lozada has since divorced the former NFL star.
Johnson’s sentence is typical for this type of case, said Assistant State Attorney Sarahnell Murphy, who handled the case for the Broward State Attorney’s Office.
