Superman Returns actor Brandon Routh is a first-time father after his wife gave birth to a baby boy, a rep confirms to RumorFix.

Routh and his actress wife Courtney Ford became proud parents to Leo James, who weighed in at eight pounds, on Friday.

In a statement to People the couple gushes, “We’re in awe… we can’t take our eyes off him!” Ford also took to her Twitter page after the news was announced and told her followers:

“Thanks to everyone for the kind wishes.”

Routh and Ford married in 2007.
