On Tuesday, Dr. Paul Nassif decided to take his legal separation to the next level — he filed for divorce from Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Adrienne Maloof.

It was obviously an emotional 24 hours for the plastic surgeon, who lost his father on Monday. Here’s his announcement via Twitter:

We at RumorFix are reminded of some advice Paul’s father gave to Adrienne when she married his son. One of our reporters interviewed the reality star last September at the opening of Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR Lounge. We asked her for marriage advice.

“I will give you the advice that my father-n-law gave me,” she told us. “He said before you get married just make sure you lower your expectations with your husband. Once you do that then you will be happy.”

Our follow up question was — do you agree with that advice?  “Well yes,” she told us. “You will see it becomes necessary if you want to be happy.”
