Rashida Jones Apologizes for John Travolta Comments

Rashida Jones is apologizing for comments she made about John Travolta’s sexual orientation, saying they were “thoughtless”.

In an interview with SpinningPlatters.com Jones, along with Celeste And Jesse Forever”co-writer Will McCormack, discussed the need for more openly gay actors.

Jones said: “A movie star. Like John Travolta? Come out! Come on. How many masseurs have to come forward? Let’s do this.  Big stars need to come out. Ricky Martin was huge. That was big; I was really happy about that… People are so precious about their careers.”

But she has since issued an apology via her Twitter account, saying Travolta’s personal life is not her business.

“Made a thoughtless comment about John Travolta. I sincerely apologize. Nobody’s personal life is my business.”

      Jones publicly urges John Travolta to come out of the closet. Perhaps that
      headlines and story should (more accurately) actually read this way:

      Jesse Forever,” in an effort to promote herself and the film within the
      social media circles and thus increase her somewhat remote fame (in comparison)
      relays unproven, unsubstantiated rumors of an accusation against John Travolta,
      who denies the accusers charges.”

       

      Astronaut
      Sally Ride’s post-mortem tribute to the fact that she was survived (we found
      out afterwards, of course) by Tam O’Shaugnessy, her partner of 27 years as well
      as having been previously married to a male astronaut for five years; should be
      proof positive that whether (or not) someone is actually either privately gay
      or lesbian or bi-sexual or trans and does not wish to currently reveal this -
      it is none of anybody’s g-damn business.

       

      And
      everyone including celebs who actually are or are not so; should have their
      right to their dignity as well as privacy with regards to this matter;
      instead of being hounded and witch-hunted by the likes of washed-up dried-out
      windbags such as Quincy Jones, Joan Rivers and Carrie Fisher and now
      faux-ingénue Rashida Jones – or any other ‘impending’ clueless, rumor mongering
      and truly classless, voluntarily hypocritical headline grabbers. Period.

       

      *Update*

      Since Ms. Jones has apologized just a few hours ago on her Rashida Jones
      ‘twitter’ account; I hope she learned her lesson and wasn’t simply ‘cow-towing’
      to her movie’s execs. BTW – Sorry about that ‘post-error’ – Make that
      ‘post-mortem’ tribute.

      I sorry too if I might have gone a little overboard w/Rashida there, but I have
      bipolar illness and so I know what it is like to be cruelly posted about and
      sometimes ‘follow-up post’ whenever I see people thoughtlessly use
      unsubstantiated rumors to publicly shame, disgrace and/or stigmatize others; in
      an attempt to thwart their efforts a bit if that’s possible.

      BTW – Speaking of ‘posting’ my spelling was a tiny bit off. I’m sorry about
      that ‘post-error’ – Make that ‘Sally’s post-mortem’ tribute.

      RE:Terrance I hate it when people say “I or they can buy and sell you ” What’s the point?? That saying has ran it’s course…A person is not for sale! I know it is just a saying, but show your character and use your own words that actually make sense. How about He has more money and fame than She does or ever will (Not sure about the money part, you do know who her Dad is, don’t you??)..Buy and sale you, that is just plain stupid. And I am not poor and bitter, by any means….guess that means I can start buying and selling people….
