Check out these incredible family pictures of US Olympic star Danell Leyva. Leyva is the gymnast who put on an amazing performance to come back from 19th position and win a bronze medal at the men’s individual competition at the London 2012 games.

The pictures show Danell as a youth, training and relaxing with his family who own Universal Gymnastics gym in South Miami. His stepfather Yin Alvarez is a retired Cuban gymnast who runs the facility.

Danell’s mother Maria – also a former gymnast – can be seen in some pictures too. She fled Cuba with Danell and his sister when he was just 1.

The 20-year-old has spoken of his pride for both his Cuban roots and representing the US in the Olympics, and both flags hang side by side in the family’s gym.
