Celebrities are taking to Twitter to express their outrage and sadness over a shooting in Manhattan on Friday morning. A 53-year-old man opened fire outside the Empire State Building, shooting a former coworker in the head. Several other people were shot in the moments following the initial altercation.
Kim Kardashian, and New York native Nicki Minaj were among the first to tweet about it:
“Sending my prayers to everyone involved with the Empire State Building shooting! This violence has got to stop!” Kim Kardashian tweeted.
“My Prayers going out to the families of the victims of The Empire State Building shooting ... so, so sad,” Kris Jenner shared.
“Sorry to hear about this New York shooting. Sending love to the families & friends of the victims,” Nicki Minaj wrote.
“No semi automatic guns! Every two weeks now, another mass shooting. America, allowing this behavior is beneath us! Revise the second amendment,” Jim Carrey argued.
The gunman, Jeffrey Johnson, was shot and killed by police.
