Celebrities are taking to Twitter to express their outrage and sadness over a shooting in Manhattan on Friday morning. A 53-year-old man opened fire outside the Empire State Building, shooting a former coworker in the head. Several other people were shot in the moments following the initial altercation.

Kim Kardashian, and New York native Nicki Minaj were among the first to tweet about it:

“Sending my prayers to everyone involved with the Empire State Building shooting! This violence has got to stop!” Kim Kardashian tweeted.

“My Prayers going out to the families of the victims of The Empire State Building shooting ... so, so sad,” Kris Jenner shared.

“Sorry to hear about this New York shooting. Sending love to the families & friends of the victims,” Nicki Minaj wrote.

“No semi automatic guns! Every two weeks now, another mass shooting. America, allowing this behavior is beneath us! Revise the second amendment,” Jim Carrey argued.

The gunman, Jeffrey Johnson, was shot and killed by police.

“Yes, It’s True” that they took to Twitter and that people were shot? Here’s a “Yes, It’s True” — this site sucks. There’s no news, just confirming what everyone knows. Dr. Phil, RumorFix this site ASAP!

Alison232221 I’ve said this once before — I’ll say it again: Why all the anger?

Aren’t you glad Kim that sending prayers cost nothing. Your not one that is known as a giver unless there is some payoff for you. Why don’t you surprise us all and offer to pay for the funeral costs or hospital bills of the victims. I never ever take any gesture of sympathy from you seriously when your whole existance is based on being shallow and superficial. Why any comment from you would be a headline is beyond me but the world agrees this violence must stop and another thing that must stop is the selfishness and tramp behavior that got you where you are.
