Is Nicki Minaj Heading To Americal Idol?

The off-screen drama behing the scenes at American Idol might well top the on-screen drama of the singing competition!

Earlier this summer, Mariah Carey signed on to replace former judge Jennifer Lopez on the popular talent contest for a whopping $18 million paycheck. But producers are still looking to replace former judge Steven Tyler and the top name on their list? Colorful rapper, Nicki Minaj.

RumorFix reached out to Nicki who could not confirm the news, but a source at the show’s production hinted to us that a deal is in the works to bring her on board.  No contract yet, but talks are ongoing.

Rumors are also swirling as to what longtime judge Randy Jackson’s role will be in the upcoming season.  He may be replaced on the judging panel and moved to a “mentor” position.  If that happens, top names to replace him as judge include Enrique Iglesias, Joe Jonas or Keith Urban.  But none of those stars have confirmed talks as of yet.
