Part one of VH-1’s Love & Hip-Hip: Atlanta reunion show aired Monday night and RumorFix exclusively talked to K. Michelle to get her reaction to it.
She told us that yes, she did watch it but her reaction to it was “nothing much shocks me.” As to the tension between the women on the show, she said, “People are always asking me about the other girls on the show and I’m in my own bubble. I don’t pay attention to what’s going on and everything seems cool to me.”
During the reunion show, the women began by discussing the backlash from critics who said the show negatively portrayed black women and their relationships. K. Michelle told us “half of the critics aren’t even black women” and stressed she does not even care about what they think about the show anyway.
The hip hop singer says she’s not trying to be anyone’s role model, “It’s not our job to raise children.”
She says she doesn’t even let her son watch the show, “I don’t allow him to watch it. At the same time it’s life and life happens. If you want to watch someone’s life on TV, you’re watching it with it’s highs and lows. And your life isn’t going to be any better.
“I have my blog, I have my issues, I’ll curse you out. That’s one of the issues I need to work on. I’m not a clean slate and I don’t portray that.. I’m myself on TV so my image to people, I can’t do anything about that because I am me.”
When asked about a report on MediaTakeOut that allegedly revealed the net worth for the stars on the show, K. Michelle told us bluntly “I don’t read that. I don’t pay attention to that.”
