True

Family sources have been told that Rodney King may not have died by drowning, RumorFix is reporting exclusively.

The 47 year old, who has become a symbol for the LA Riots, was found dead at the bottom of his pool on June 17 in Rialto, California by his fiance, Cynthia Kelly.

911 tapes reveal that Cynthia didn’t know how to swim to rescue the civil rights figure.

Now almost two months later, RumorFix is told that final autopsy results won’t be in for another two to four months.

It typically takes four to six weeks for toxicology results and for a final autopsy report to be compiled.

This case is not being handled by the LA Coroner’s office, so we asked Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter for his expert opinion on why it’s taking so long.

“It could be because they’ve ordered more tests — like drug tests,” he told RumorFix.

And, that is in line with what sources in Rodney’s family has told us — they were told a few weeks ago that the coroner isn’t convinced that Rodney died by drowning.
