A huge rumor coming out of London this morning is talk that Team USA basketball star Lebron James asked swimmer Lauren Perdue out on a dinner date. The Miami Heat baller, who also happens to be engaged, was reportedly shot down by the star.
The rumor start after Perdue tweeted:
“Lebron James just invited me to dinner… Um wuuuutttt?!?” The Olympian also sent out the image you see above on Instagram with the caption: “Oh hey, Lebon.”

The tweet, which has since been removed, and the picture fueled rumors that Lebron was up to no good. But Perdue has since clarified her tweet, telling the Charlotte Observer, “[Lebron] was kind of joking but he was basically like, ‘Would you like to come eat with me at the dining hall?’ And I said, ‘Um, I’m sorry, I have a curfew.’ So I turned that one down, yeah.”

Whether Lebron was just being nice, or really wanted a date is up for debate, but one thing is for sure: he didn’t get one. Burn!
