Chris Brown’s Mother Denies Dissing Rihanna

Chris Brown’s mother wants everyone to know that a series of Twitter  messages posted in the hours following Rihanna’s controversial interview on Oprah’s Next Chapter, were not intended for Rihanna.

During the interview, Rihanna confessed that she was still in love with her ex. That revelation made Brown’s girlfriend chuckle, and also appeared to set off Joyce Hawkins who tweeted in all caps:

“TELL THE TRUTH AND SET YOURSELF FREE. NOT UNTIL YOU TELL THE TRUTH WILL YOU EVER BE FREE! PEACE SOMETIMES COMES WITH A PRICE. DID YOU SAY SOMETHING? DID IT HELP ANYONE? BE POSITIVE IT CAN AND WILL HELP SOMEONE.”

That bit about telling the truth was interpreted as being directed towards Rihanna by some, but Hawkins later tweeted:

“MY STATEMENTS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GENERAL AND WILL REMAIN THAT WAY.”

That may be the case, but timing is everything.
