Chad Johnson & Evelyn Lozada To Divorce After Only 42 Days

After only 42 days of marriage, Evelyn Lozada has filed for divorce from Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson, RumorFix has confirmed.

The Basketball Wives star filed divorce papers in Florida and reportedly is claiming her marriage is”irretrievably broken.”

The court filing comes just days after Chad was arrested for domestic violence battery for allegedly head-butting his new bride.

According to police reports, the fight began after Evelyn claims she found a receipt for a box of condoms in his car. Evelyn released a statement to RumorFix on Monday stating in part, “Domestic violence is not Okay and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well.”

Chad broke his silence on Tuesday, releasing this statement on his website: “I would like to wish Evelyn well and will never say anything bad about her because I truly love her to death.”

This is the third strike for Chad since his arrest — he got fired from the Miami Dolphins, VH1 canceled his spin-off show Ocho & Ev and now Evelyn has filed for divorce.
