RumorFix was right–the hug between Taylor Swift and Patrick Schwarzenegger was just that: only a hug. This, according to the country pop princess herself!

The two youngsters were photographed hugging during 4th of July, setting off romance rumors all over the web; with one gossip blog, TMZ, even going as far to claim that “Taylor couldn’t tear herself away” from the 18-year-old model.

Well, Tay Tay wasn’t having it! “Patrick is a friend!” the singer told AccessHollywood backstage at the Teen Choice Awards. “That’s why I don’t read any gossip about me, because I don’t want to be weirded out by who people think I’m dating. I should just warn guys [who talk to me.] ‘This is what you can expect tomorrow on all these different blogs.’”

RumorFix actually debunked this rumor two weeks ago, but we’re glad to see Miss Swift is standing up for herself!
