Over the Fourth of July holiday, country star Taylor Swift was seen hugging Arnold Schwarzenegger’s son, Patrick, setting off couple’s alerts all over the web.

Taylor, who was just named highest paid celebrity under 30, was hanging out with Patrick and the Kennedy clan on a beach in Massachusetts.

Well that part of the story is true, but the rest isn’t.

Some blogs are saying they had a “romantic weekend,” others are saying that Maria Shriver is forbidding the 22-year-old superstar from dating her son.

RumorFix has the real story.

Our sources say, Taylor rented a house near the Kennedys and was invited for a holiday celebration at the Kennedy compound. She hugged a lot of people at that party, but the picture with the 18-year-old hug stood out, because they’re both young, single and gorgeous.

But don’t let it fool you.

Patrick has been dating a girl from his high school, Brentwood School. Classmates tell us, she’s Lauren Adelson, the granddaughter of colorful entertainment executive Merv Adelson.

      Finally, a journalist that has some common sense. Taylor hugs everyone. It’s what she does when she greets someone or is saying goodbye. Doesn’t anyone pay attention when she’s performing. She goes out into the crowd and hugs people. I seriously doubt she’s dating all those people.
