It has been said there is no greater sorrow than that of a parent who outlives a child.
Sylvester Stallone, who was seen for the first time Saturday since the death of Sage Stallone on July 13, put on a brave face at Sage’s private memorial at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Brentwood, California. But later in a private moment in a vehicle, he showed his deep pain.

The Expendables star was joined by his wife, Jennifer Flavin, brother, Frank Stallone and Sage’s mom, Sacha Czack.

The 36-year-old actor/producer/ director, who starred in Rocky 5 with his father, died mysteriously on Friday the 13th, but police do no suspect foul play. Numerous prescription bottles were found near his body.
“This agonizing loss will be felt for the rest of our lives. Sage is our first child and the center of our universe and I am humbly begging for all to have my son’s memory and soul left in peace,” 66-year-old Sylvester released on Monday.
Czack requested that, in lieu of flowers, mourners make a donation to Autism Speaks. Sage’s younger brother Seargeoh is autistic.
