The National Rifle Association’s magazine American Rifleman has removed a tweet that was not only horribly timed, but perceived as offensive.
The tweet “Good morning, shooters, Happy Friday! Weekend plans?” was published at 9:20 ET, but later deleted — in fact the entire American Rifleman account has been deleted.

The tweet appeared just hours after the massacre at a midnight screening of Dark Knight Rises in Colorado.

Michael Moore, who produced a film about gun control called Bowling For Columbine, retweeted the message to his more than a million followers without commentary — letting the statement speak for itself.
“A single individual, unaware of events in Colorado, tweeted a comment that is being completely taken out of context,” NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said in a comment issued to CNN.
