There are conflicting reports from Jackson family members as to whether Katherine Jackson, the matriarch to some of the most famous musicians of all time (Jackson 5, Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson), is actually missing, RumorFix has confirmed with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
The 82-year-old, who has been taking care of Michael’s children since his death, has worried 14-year-old Paris Jackson, who hasn’t heard from her grandmother in a week.
CNN reports that Katherine has been traveling with her daughter Rebbie Jackson — her lawyer tells the news outlet, “I’m concerned that she’s not safe.”
A sheriff’s spokesman says a missing persons report was filed by Trent Jackson, Katherine’s nephew. But two days ago, her son, Jermaine Jackson, tweeted,” I want to reassure everyone (inc all sudden medical experts) that Mother is fine but is resting up in AZ on the orders of a doctor, not us.”
The sheriff’s department released this statement to RumorFix: “Katherine Jackson is reportedly with family members. Late Saturday night, a different family member reported that he was unable to speak with her and is concerned for her well being. Deputies are continuing to make efforts to reach her and ask that she contact the Malibu / Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.”
UPDATE: Authorities say they have spoken to Katherine Jackson and they say she is safe with a relative — they didn’t reveal specifics.
