Katy Perry will not be joining American Idol, at least not this season. Perry was one of the names being floated around as a possible replacement for Jennifer Lopez if she does decide not to return to the judges panel, but Perry says she’s not interested.
“People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved, and it’s not right for me yet. It’s a real commitment to be on one of those shows,” the singer told The Hollywood Reporter. Perry says before she can buckle down for that type of gig, she wants to focus on her own career. “I have ideas for two or three big, creative things, and I want to be able to fulfill those ideas.”
Other celebrities rumored to be up for the gig include Charlie Sheen, Miley Cyrus and Adam Lambert.
