While the Jackson family was fighting over Michael Jackson’s billion dollar estate, accusations were flying fast and furious.
Our RumorFix staff of reporters went sifting through the lies to bring you the truth — or as close to it as humanely possible.
RUMOR #1 Katherine Jackson suffered a stroke:
- Paris Jackson started the Twitter war by writing, “I am going to clarify right now that what has been said about my grandmother is a rumor and nothing has happened. She is completely fine.” Her uncle Jermaine then tweeted, “The truth is that Mother DID suffer a mini-stroke some months ago. She is fine now, but the timeline doesn’t alter the fact it happened”
It still appears unclear whether Katherine suffered a stroke — so we will call it “Still A Rumor.”
RUMOR #2 Katherine Jackson was staying at the Miraval Spa in Arizona during the 10 days s he was missing:
- When the 82-year-old matriarch was reported missing for more than a week, she taped a video message for ABC News from the Miraval Spa saying she was there for R&R and that she was safe.
- But just days earlier Jermaine issued a statement saying, “Let me put to bed today’s nonsense: as I made clear some days ago, Mother is safe and well in Arizona with her daughter and our sister, Rebbie, resting up on doctor’s advice.” A picture of Katherine playing Uno on Rebbie’s dining room table showed up on websites after Pima County Sheriff’s confirmed that Katherine was at Rebbie’s house.
- So which story is true — did Katherine go to Arizona to vacation at the Miraval Spa or was she in hiding at Rebbie’s home and later moved to the spa when things got too heated.
We’re not sure — we will call this one “Still A Rumor.”
RUMOR #3 The Jacksons kept Katherine from talking to her grandchildren:
- Paris kept a countdown on Twitter on the number of days she hadn’t spoken to her grandmother: “8 days and counting . something is really off , this isn’t like her at all .. i wanna talk directly to my grandmother!!<|3″ A day later, she warned her family members, “9 days and counting… so help me god i will make whoever did this pay.”
- In a statement, Jermaine claimed, “No-one is being ‘blocked’ from speaking with Mother.” But Paris’ brother, Prince Michael, provided documentation giving us all a RumorFix. He tweeted out a text message exchange between family members where he demanded to talk to his grandmother and Janet Jackson, responded, “Don’t let them pls.”
RUMOR #4 Katherine was prohibited from using cellphones or computers by the Miraval Spa:
- The Jacksons claim the Miraval Spa has a policy against using cellphones and computers. This needs a RumorFix — a statement from the spa reads, “The Miraval spa offers Wi-Fi in all guest rooms. Phones are also in all villas.”
- Also, Katherine clearly stayed with Rebbie during part of her Arizona visit, why didn’t she call Paris, Blanket or Prince Michael during that time?
One thing is for sure – as long as the Jacksons keep fighting, we will keep fixing their rumors!
