When we found out that Chris Crocker, the Britney-loving, nude-obsessed gender bending YouTube star, wanted to raise $15,000 from his fans to make an album, we thought:
- That’s ballsy
- He’s delusional.
We heard about this three days ago, when he was only about $1,400 toward his goal, but he gave himself 60 days to raise the money.
And, much to my surprise, when I checked early this morning (Sunday), the 24-year-old openly-gay blogger and songwriter reached his goal.
The usually sassy Internet star could only gush with appreciation:
Chris has already figured out his album art. It includes a picture of himself as a young kid with a road behind him representing how far he’s come. Chris says if the money keeps pouring in he’ll use it to pay for a music video.
UPDATE: July 10, Chris still has 54 days to go and has raised nearly $19,000
