ABC Keeps Fred Willard As Host Of Trust Us With Your Life

Although PBS swiftly fired Fred Willard from the TV show, Market Warriors, RumorFix has learned exclusively that ABC is keeping him as host of Trust Us With Your Life.

Willard has been put under a microscope by the networks because he was arrested Wednesday night without incident at the Tiki Theater in Hollywood. The comedian, who is somewhere between 72 and 78, is accused of watching an X-rated flick while masturbating.

A source close to the ABC production tells RumorFix the summer series — that premiered on July 10 –  has already been taped and will air as planned.

Trust Us With Your Life is an impro-comedy series that features celebrities like David Hasselhoff, Ricky Gervais, Jerry Springer, Florence Henderson, Jack and Kelly Osbourne, Jane Seymour, Serena Williams and Mark Cuban.

Celebrities reminisce about key events in their lives then comedian improve those moments.

UPDATE: July 31 9 p.m. PT: ABC canceled Trust Us With Your Life and has shelved the remaining two episodes — but it could be because of low ratings not his porn scandal.

      Maybe FOX will offer him a million dollar contract to be a commentator on Fox News Sunday like they did for Juan Williams after PBS fired him.

      Well done, ABC! I’m sure ABC will take a lot of heat for this decision, but it is high time that Americans grow the heck up and quit pretending that sex and masturbation are somehow wrong, evil, or dirty.  Maybe someday we can even have a porn theater that is allowed to let adults be adults without risking arrest and public shaming.Sadly, there is some logic to the reaction of PBS.  There are millions of dishonest, hypocritical
      conservative idiots who would use this as ammo to demonize PBS as some sort of liberal haven for sex deviants, but it is still disappointing that they have to cater to the haters. 

      Hopefully, as a private company, ABC will roll with the punches and keep Fred on TV.  I watch him because he’s funny, not because I have an emotional investment in his sex life.

      Trust Us With Your Life is a fabulous show and I hope that ABC chooses not to fire Fred Willard. He is and always has been hilarious. I loved his role in American Wedding and he’s a fantastic host for this new show. It airs when I’m at work so I usually don’t have a chance to see it but thanks to my new Hopper and the PrimeTime Anytime feature I know that all my shows on NBC, ABC, CBS and FOX will be recorded seven days a week. The best part is that the shows are available up to eight days after they’ve been recorded. If it wasn’t for a Dish co-worker I’d be missing out! Now I can catch Trust Us With Your Life anytime I want. Besides Willard, Brady, Mochrie, and Proops are too much – who wouldn’t want to watch that?
