The Desperate Housewives family is remembering Kathryn Joosten for her courage, strength but most of all humor.

The 72-year-old, who played Mrs. McKluskey, died Saturday morning after a long battle with lung cancer.

Marcia Cross tweeted, "Thank you Kathryn. For your courage, your humor, your fight and your talent. We were so lucky to have you. xo xo xo." Felicity Huffman called her "an amazing woman and a wonderful actress."

Teri Hatcher, who posted this picture from the last day of filming on Desperate Housewives, blogged,:

"I'm so sad with the loss today of the brilliant Kathryn Joosten. She was my friend. And I will miss her. Kathy, her family and I were supposed to have dinner soon. I will miss that we didn't get to have that dinner. It's another example of never taking a day for granted. I spoke with her family this afternoon. It was good to share how incredible she was and to know that at least she is not in pain anymore. Kathy my dear, you will be missed so much. Thank you for being in my life. I am better for it. "

Childhood friends.  Kathy and I grew up together in Chicago. She and I became friends at an early age.  We went to St. Clement’s Grammar and High School. We were next door neighbors. I have many funny and fond memories of us together like the jiggerbug dance contest she and I danced in Senior year. We came in 2nd place.
My husband Paul and I wish to express our most sincere sympathy to her family. We both enjoyed and thrilled at her success acting career and very proud of her and her many accomplishments. Until we meet again.

I love Kathryn she was hysterical and so talented! She will be missed. My only problem is that Terri Hatcher blog post, in that segment she talked about herself 8 times. A wonderful woman is gone and she’s taking this opportunity to say how hard it is for her. What the heck is that!?!

I thought Teri’s was the most personal.  The other Wives’ comments were sincere I’m sure, but Teri’s wasn’t boiler plate.
