Australian actor Russell Crowe has been tapped to play Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch in a new biopic titled, Good Times, Bad Times.

The British tabloids were first to report the news, it’s just that they were dead wrong with their casting info. RumorFix has learned that Crowe will NOT be playing the News Corp. executive whose companies were hammered recently for illegally hacking the cell phones of celebrities, civilians and government officials.

“I haven’t been approached by anyone to play Rupert Murdoch. That’s just a beat up,” the Academy Award-winning actor tweeted this week.
