When we saw photographs of Miley Cyrus frolicking in the pool a man not named Liam Hemsworth, we knew the rumors would start. Now Cyrus is going on the defensive after some bloggers have suggested she may be having an inappropriate relationship with friend, Cheyne Thomas.
The two were spotted chilling together in Miami earlier this week, but Miley says their relationship is strictly platonic.
“So now because I am engaged, I can’t have a friend of the opposite sex? Can’t have a friend help me out while I’m working all day?#dumb,” she tweeted. “Maybe YOU would have friends too if you’d get your face out the tabloids and start living your own life.”
Sure Miley, you can have friends of the opposite sex, but in the court of public opinion, you have to be more aware of what you’re doing with those friends and who you’re doing it in front of. Needless to say, as unfortunate as it is, pictures like these are how rumors start.
That being said, Miley made sure to let everyone know where her relationship with Liam stands.
“@tishcyrus I love my fiancé & he loves me,” she tweeted to her mom. “All the rest is bull sh*t. We get to live a life of happiness no one can take that away from us!”
