Former reality star-turned-politician Tareq Salahi is getting serious about his campaign for Virginia’s governor by bringing in some heavyweights.
Tareq has tapped two pros who worked with former President Ronald Reagan, RumorFix has learned exclusively.
The 43-year-old named Scott Mackenzie to serve as treasurer for his campaign. Mackenzie served as treasurer of “Reagan for President” and later received presidential appointments to the Department of State and Treasury. He has also served as treasurer for several other presidential campaigns.
Andrea Ross, who worked under President Reagan working on tax reform and financial institutions policy, will act as Tareq’s director of campaign strategy.
The rest of his team includes a Havard-educated lawyer, a political consultant and a former Department of Defense staffer.
Tareq says, “I am thrilled to announce our core political team … we look forward to promoting Virginia as the best state for business and jobs.”
