Teen Mom star Gary Shirley is taking to Twitter to set the record straight on rumors regarding his personal life.

Shirley, whose baby mama Amber Portwood is currently in jail for violating her parole, says that he and he alone has taken over raising their daughter, not his mother.

“I do have a great mom, but she doesn’t raise my kid. She has her own house, job, life,” Shirley tweeted.

As for if there’s a new love in his life, Shirley added:

“Not in any relationship. I’m single. A girl has to be very damn special after everything I’ve experienced for me to be with her. I don’t want someone in and out of a relationship ever again. Leah doesn’t need anymore confusion.”

And for those of you who wonder if Teen Mom is scripted TV, a defensive Shirley points to the facts to fix that rumor:

“I get asked was the show real? Yes, it is obviously. I mean Amber’s in trouble. That’s not fake …  [the] shows real. [I] hope someone learns from it.”

Gary says he will continue fixing rumors on Twitter throughout the week about his relationship with Amber. We’ll look for those tweets.
