Liotta famously played Hill in the 1990 Martin Scorsese film, a role that would define his career. In an exclusive statement to RumorFix, Ray expresses his condolences to Hill’s family.
“Although I played Henry Hill in the movie ‘Goodfellas’ I only met him a few short times so I can’t say I knew him but, I do know he lived a complicated life. My heart goes out to his family and may he finally rest in peace.”
Hill passed away in a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday after battling a long illness. The 1986 Nicholas Pileggi book Wiseguy was based on Hill’s life in the mafia.
