It has been speculated that the song is about her boyfriend Slade Smiley, but she clarified to Ryan Seacrest on Monday morning that the song is in actuality about his son who has been battling brain cancer since he was six. Here is what she has to say about her musical endeavor:
“It just really inspired me to write a song about this kid being so young, and dealing with so much, and being unbreakable despite the fact.”
