A purported backup dancer for Nicki Minaj is being held by Tokyo police in connection with the death and sexual assault of an Irish student.
Nicola Furlong, 21, was found dead in a hotel room on Thursday, just hours after attending a Minaj concert with a female friend. According to reports, the girls met two men at the concert and ended up going back to a hotel with them. It is believed that the women were drugged, and sexually assaulted while in a “comatose state.”
The men, Larry Perry, 19, and hip-hop dancer James Blackston, 23, are being detained on suspicion of sexual assault.

In a statement, the family said:
“We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful daughter / sister Nicola in such tragic circumstances. Nicola was a warm, generous, stunning person who always had time for her family and other people. Nicola will always be at the centre of our lives. She stood for everything that is good in life.”
“The death is still very much under investigation. In the meantime, the family has expressed their strong desire for privacy,” an official with the Irish Embassy in Tokyo said this week.
