Coming out of nowhere, Tareq Salahi’s bid for Virginia Governor is getting support from 19 percent of those polled, RumorFix has learned, and the alleged White House party crasher is thrilled.
According to a poll by Public Policy Polling, If Tareq battled U.S. Senator Mark Warner for the governor’s seat, he would get 19 percent of the vote. Mind you Senator Warner would get 58 percent of the vote — thus winning. Tareq also comes in with a 34 percent recognition factor.
The Salahi Campaign is popping some wine bottles today. “We are thrilled to see that in less than a week of announcing plans to run for governor, that already Virginians are showing their quick support in the early polls,” Tareq tells RumorFix in an exclusive statement.
Tareq — ever the tease — says he’ll be making a special announcement next week. “I thank in advance all Virginians for their support. Afterall, Virginia is for lovers. I remain committed to the Commonwealth of Virginia,” the reality star-turned-politician says.
Unfortunately, the polling company also reports Salahi has the dubious designation of being one of the least popular people they have ever polled. Only two percent of Virginians have a positive opinion of him to 34 percent with a negative one.
