Remember that Jay Leno joke about Mitt Romney living in a huge gold palace that looks remarkably like the Golden Temple of Amritsar, which is a sacred temple for the Sikh religion?
The joke offended at least one Sikh follower in Bakersfield, CA so he sued The Tonight Show host and NBC. The joke, which was broadcast on January 9, shows the homes of the GOP candidates including Newt Gingrich’s home in Virginia, Ron Paul’s house in Texas and then says: ‘Here’s a look at Mitt Romney’s summer home on Lake Winnipesaukee” showing the sacred building.
Dr. Randeep Dhillon alleged that the joke encouraged “hatred and ridicule” of his religion.
RumorFix has learned exclusively that Dr. Dhillon has filed a motion to dismiss the defamation lawsuit. No reason was given.
