Nicki Minaj’s eccentric persona has been compared with Lady Gaga’s, but the Queens, New York rapper is making it clear she doesn’t like the comparison.

“It irks me. First of all, I’m a rapper; first of all, I’m from south side Jamaica Queens. What are the similarities?” Minaj asked during a segment with ABC News. Of course there’s the outrageous outfits and wigs, but Minaj says that’s not reason enough for the comparisons.

“Wigs? Every female in this game  – EVERY FEMALE IN THIS GAME – wears wigs? Over the top costumes? Try again,” she fires back in a frustrated tone.

“Gaga is a fantastic artist. She’s paved her way, she’s opened her own lane, but I feel like I have my own lane and we never cross – ever!”

And there you have it — do not compare the two.
