Kanye West is denying a rumor started by Us Weekly that he called his new girlfriend Kim Kardashian “his Beyonce.” Beyonce is the superstar wife of Kanye’s mentor, and frequent collaborator, Jay-Z.

The alleged comparison didn’t sit well with the Chicago rapper who responded to Us Weekly by denying having made such an outlandish statement. “Of course there are a lot of media inaccuracies surrounding this past couple of weeks, especially the ‘She’s my Beyonce’ quote. I would never compare anyone to my friend’s wife.”

The rapper added, “Come on now, that doesn’t even sound like me. If I don’t say something in a rap or on Twitter, it’s not true.”
