For years, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie said they would not get married until gays were allowed to marry.
The superstar couple held their promise as long as they could and have now bowed down to pressure from their children and confirmed their engagement Friday.
GLAAD (The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) has no hard feelings.
Rich Ferraro, director of communications, tells RumorFix exclusively:
“We congratulate them on their engagement and thank them for continuing to speak out about the inequality that so many gay and lesbian couples face today. No loving and committed couple should be denied the happiness, joy, and legal protections that come with marriage.”
