A friend of Alec Baldwin’s tells RumorFix the actor is “disconcerted” after the arrest of a Canadian actress outside his New York home. Genevieve Sabourin was taken into custody by NYPD on early Monday morning for allegedly stalking the recently engaged 30 Rock comedian.

The New York Post claims that Baldwin and Sabourin had been intimate in the past, and while a source close to the actor does confirm that Baldwin and the blonde beauty know each other, it isn’t in any romantic capacity. “They had dinner once – in 2010. That’s it. There was no further relationship,” the insider told us.

A rep for the actor was less vocal, simply telling us, “The matter has been referred to the NYPD, and we’re not commenting on details of the ongoing investigation.”

Regardless, Baldwin and his fiancee are trying to make light of the situation despite finding it “disconcerting.” Earlier this week, Baldwin tweeted:

“Isn’t it odd when an accused stalker is in handcuffs, being taken away by the cops, yet smiles for the cameras?”

He also tweeted to his partner, Hilaria Thomas:

“I am lucky and grateful in my life now, no matter what the motivations of certain others. @hilariathomas.”

And Hilaria seems to have her man’s back, writing:

“Life stops when you let crazy people dictate your activities.”

Genevieve Sabourin has since been charged with aggravated harassment and stalking and a temporary restraining order has been put in place.
