George Clooney has been released from a Washington, D.C. jail after being arrested on Friday morning by the United States Secret Service.
RumorFix has confirmed his bond was $100.
Clooney just held a press conference in our nation’s capital where he joked when asked by a reporter if doing time was difficult, “Really rough you can imagine. Have you ever been in a cell with these guys?” Clooney attended the presser with his father, and several other people who were with him at the time of arrest.
Clooney was charged with disorderly crossing of a police line, a misdemeanor, Secret Service spokesman Max Millien said.
The A-list actor was protesting in front of the Sudanese embassy when he was arrested. Clooney has been urging the United States government to get involved with stopping the killing of innocent civilians in the country.
“Our job is to bring attention to [the issue], and one of those ways was apparently getting arrested. I guess we’re not allowed to hang out [at] the Sudanese embassy,” he continued joking.
